GTA 6 Leaks & Rumors

Last updated: July 2026

Only one major GTA 6 leak has ever been confirmed real: the September 2022 hack, when 90+ development videos were stolen from Rockstar Games and later verified by Bloomberg and Rockstar itself. Almost everything circulating since — retailer “leaks,” map estimates, and gameplay rumors — is unverified. This tracker separates the confirmed from the speculative, rates sources by credibility, and updates as the November 19, 2026 launch nears.

How to Spot a Credible GTA 6 Leak vs a Fake

With Rockstar drip-feeding official info, new “leaks” appear almost weekly — and telling the real from the fake has become the hard part. Here’s the credibility tiering we use throughout this page:

A simple rule: the more a claim is corroborated by a Tier 1 source, the more you can trust it. A single unsourced post proves nothing, no matter how confident it sounds.

The 2022 GTA 6 Leak — What Actually Happened

The biggest GTA 6 leak is also the only confirmed one. On September 18, 2022, a GTAForums user called “teapotuberhacker” posted more than 90 videos — roughly 50 minutes of work-in-progress footage pulled from Rockstar’s internal systems. It’s widely considered one of the largest leaks in video game history.

Rockstar confirmed it within days, describing a “network intrusion” in which an unauthorized third party accessed confidential information — while stressing it didn’t expect any long-term impact on development. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier independently verified with Rockstar sources that the footage was genuine, early, and unfinished. The clips showed a modern-day Vice City, the two protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, and rough gameplay and animation tests — details Rockstar wouldn’t officially confirm until its 2023 reveal trailer.

The culprit was Arion Kurtaj, a teenager linked to the Lapsus$ hacking group (also behind breaches at Uber and Nvidia). He was found guilty by a UK court in 2023, having reportedly pulled off part of the operation from a hotel room using a Fire TV Stick and a phone. Take-Two responded with a wave of copyright takedowns, and Rockstar has said little about the game beyond official channels since. Importantly, the leak did not cause the later delays — those were separate, quality-driven decisions.

Tom Henderson’s GTA 6 Predictions — The Track Record

If there’s one name attached to “GTA 6 predictions,” it’s Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming. He’s one of the most-followed insiders in the industry, and on GTA 6 his hit rate has been strong:

But he’s not infallible, and a good tracker says so. Henderson has also missed: he promoted a full remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar shipped a standard port instead) and a revival of the Bully series that never materialized, and got the classic-trilogy remaster timing wrong. On GTA 6 specifically he’s been reliable; across all Rockstar projects, he’s been mixed.

The takeaway: when Henderson reports something GTA-6-specific — especially if Jason Schreier echoes it — it’s worth weighing seriously. But “Tom Henderson said” is not the same as “Rockstar confirmed.”

Current GTA 6 Rumors (2026) — All Unverified

None of the following is confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two. We include them because they’re widely circulated — but treat every item as a rumor until officially confirmed:

Our Stance on GTA 6 Leaks

We cover leaks and rumors as news — reporting what ’s circulating, who’s saying it, and how credible it is. What we don’t do is host, link to, or embed stolen or leaked material (like the 2022 footage), which remains Rockstar’s copyrighted property and is subject to takedowns. For actual GTA 6 footage, the official trailers are the place to look. Our goal here is to help you read the rumor mill critically — not to spread unverified claims as fact.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was the biggest GTA 6 leak?

The September 2022 Rockstar hack, when over 90 development videos were stolen and posted online. Rockstar and Bloomberg's Jason Schreier both confirmed the footage was genuine, making it the only major GTA 6 leak verified as real.

Who leaked GTA 6 in 2022?

Arion Kurtaj, a teenager linked to the Lapsus$ hacking group, which also breached Uber and Nvidia. He was found guilty by a UK court in 2023.

Is Tom Henderson reliable for GTA 6 leaks?

He has a strong GTA 6 track record — correctly calling the Vice City setting, dual protagonists, Fall 2026 window, and $80 price. But he's missed on other Rockstar projects (a Red Dead remaster, a Bully revival), so treat his reports as credible but not confirmed.

Are the 2026 GTA 6 leaks real?

None of the 2026 rumors — retailer listings, map estimates, GTA Online features — have been confirmed by Rockstar. Some may prove accurate, but all should be treated as unverified for now.

Did the 2022 leak delay GTA 6?

No. Rockstar said the leak didn't affect its development timeline, and the later delays were separate decisions driven by the studio wanting more time for polish.

How can I tell if a GTA 6 leak is fake?

Check the source: official Rockstar/Take-Two and Bloomberg's Jason Schreier are most reliable. Be cautious with retailer listings and forum posts, and treat anything asking for money, logins, or offering "early access" as a scam.

Is GTA 6 gameplay leaked online?

Early footage from the 2022 hack circulated widely, but it's stolen, copyrighted material subject to takedowns — we don't link it. For legitimate gameplay, watch the official GTA 6 trailers.
